Ever been hit by the ball from anyone good ?

I must have been to about a thousand games, and I've only been hit twice by the ball,Bobby Barnes at Selhurst in a cup match early 80s,and by Andrew Impey in the chicken run in the 90s,surely someone has been hit by Malcolm Mcdonald or Ronaldo ?

Got hit square on the boat by Cottee whilst standing at the front on the north bank. He was practicing penalties before a game against the mans circa 88...funny enough he went on to score a penalty at the north bank end to earn us a 1-1 draw (if memory serves me right)

funniest i was sealey warming up with shaka, hitting balls towards him at the BML end. les gradually moved further out and until he was just outside the box and launches a ball nowhere near shaka, just to the right of the goal and smashed some poor fucker reading his programme, straight in the face. it was very funny

There was I standing in the North Bank, minding my own business. When I turned to chat to my pal Clyde Best nearly knocked my head off. To be fair, I wasn't far outside the goal

Jimmy Quinn used to warm up Ludo, and he put more over the bar than not. One such effort impacted me square in the mooey whilst perusing an OLAS, but in answer to the question as posed, ‘No’.

I'm in this Club, I was fucking about in the School End at Loftus Road while we were taking a regular beating in the late 70's/ early 80's with me mates (none of whom know Sold) when Don Masson smashed one off target and hit me plumb in the boat, in thse days you had to concentrate especially if David Kelly was playing and you were standing behind the goal

Devonshire, right thigh, mid 80s in the North Bank. Cracking shot that went just over.
Probably the greatest moment of my life up until that point and for a few years after.

Mid-week away at Wimbledon when the they played at that fucking terrible hockey stadium.
Was stood behind the goal not paying too much attention to what was a drab game, and caught one on the bonce from Marlon Harewood who was, as I recall, making his debut after signing from Forest.
Not good...

I got hit on the shoulder by a rasper from Steve Jones against Spurs. In the South Bank.
So, yes I have been hit, but by anyone good is arguable. Nothing personal to Jonesy.

I went to the FA cup game away to Southampton in 1975.
The ball went sailing over our heads and I turned round to see where it went. It rebounded off the television gantry behind me and came back an hit me square in the face.

Took my nephew to a game where WHU played away at little Dorchester Town. During the warm up Dicksie belted the ball and it knocked my nephew sparko ... He ran over and made sure he was ok. End of the game he came over and gave him his shirt. Top fella...
